Luc Opdebeeck is the Artistic Director of Formaat, the leading Theatre of the Oppressed Centre in Holland and the Low Lands of Europe. Over the last 17 years Luc has contributed to putting TO on the map in many corners of Dutch Society.

Formaat has worked on issues such as Welfare, Justice, and even the world of Sports. Luc has worked with very diverse communities from “Circus Pa Meijer”, a project working with people with learning disabilities in care, to the Power of Dialogue, a long-term training initiative with the fragmented communities of the former Yugoslavia.

Perron 4 even made it to the Dutch house of parliament, giving young people with ‘conduct disorders’ the opportunity to propose changes in their education system directly to politicians.

Making A Scene is a masterclass focused on applying exercises and techniques to get stories of value from the community and translate them in direct social action by, for and with that community.

In Luc’s words: From image to action with theatre ‘embryos’, using scenes as a direct tool of action for change of the (not) accepted reality.
